Daily News

The Daily News is a newspaper published in New York City. It is a tabloid and a rival to the New York Post in circulation. The paper’s headquarters are located at 450 West 33rd Street, a building designed by architects John Mead Howells and Raymond Hood.

The News is known for its large and prominent photographs, as well as intense coverage of city news and gossip. It also features classified ads, comics and a sports section. The Daily News has a large staff of columnists and opinion formers, and is a major source of entertainment information in the New York area.

Founded in 1919, the Daily News is owned by the New York News Inc., with businessman Mortimer B. Zuckerman as chairman and co-publisher. It has a circulation of 2.4 million copies per day as of 2019, ranking it the eleventh-highest-circulating newspaper in the United States.

It is a sister publication to the New York Times and was described by The Times as “flexibly centrist” with a “high-minded, if populist, legacy.” In addition, it has been called a “liberal” paper by The New Yorker.

Daily News’s coverage of government and law enforcement, politics, crime and business, as well as its sports coverage, make it one of the most influential newspapers in the United States. The newspaper is a staple in the community, and many local businesses rely on it for advertising and coverage of their products.
